The ranges on this page are general planning examples to help you set aside time. They are not Spotless Solutions guarantees, and no visit is billed by the hour based on them.
The seven variables that move duration
1. Size of the home
More square footage means more floor, more surfaces and more travel between rooms. Size is the single biggest driver, but it is not the only one.
2. Number of bathrooms
Bathrooms are the most time dense rooms in a house. A 2,000 square foot home with four bathrooms takes noticeably longer than a 2,000 square foot home with two.
3. Condition on the day
Buildup, clutter on surfaces, dishes in the sink and heavy pet hair all add time. This is where the same home can vary by a wide margin from visit to visit.
4. Type of clean
A regular maintenance clean is the fastest. A deep clean adds detail work and takes materially longer. A move in or move out clean covers the inside of cabinets, drawers, closets and appliances in an empty home, which is longer again.
5. Extras
Inside the oven, inside the refrigerator, interior windows, blinds, wall washing, cabinet interiors and laundry each add real time. Add them deliberately rather than by default.
6. Crew size
Two cleaners in a home do not take exactly half the time of one, but they are close on larger jobs. Crew size is assigned based on the job, so total time on site can differ even when the work is identical.
7. Access and start time
Parking, elevators, gate codes, locked doors, pets that need to be secured and unclear instructions all eat into the visit. Clear access instructions are the easiest thing a customer can control.
General planning guidance
Use the table below only to decide how much of your day to keep free. Your actual visit is scheduled around your home, not this table.
| Home | Regular clean | Deep or move clean |
|---|---|---|
| Small home or condo, 1 to 2 bathrooms | Part of a morning or afternoon | Most of a half day or longer |
| Mid-size home, 2 to 3 bathrooms | A few hours | A large part of a day |
| Large home, 4 or more bathrooms | Several hours | A full day, sometimes with a larger crew |
Why recurring visits go faster
A home cleaned every week or every two weeks never gets far from baseline. Bathrooms have less buildup, kitchens have less grease, and floors have less accumulated grit. That is the same reason recurring plans cost less per visit: weekly saves 25%, every 2 weeks saves 20%, monthly saves 15% and quarterly saves 10%.
How to make your visit go faster
- Clear surfaces and floors of clutter so cleaning time goes to cleaning.
- Run or empty the dishwasher before the crew arrives, unless dishes are booked as an extra.
- Give clear access instructions: parking, entry, alarm and where to start.
- Have a plan for pets so nobody needs to pause and manage them.
- Tell us your top two priorities so the most important rooms are never the ones that get squeezed.
Do I need to be home?
No. Many customers give entry instructions and go about their day. If you prefer to be there, that is fine too. Either way, leave a note about priorities and anything the crew should avoid.
